Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation Joins Governor General’s Innovation Awards

OTTAWA, June 9, 2015 — The Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation welcomes today’s announcement that it will play a key role in the new Governor General’s Innovation Awards. The Corporation will be responsible for showcasing and promoting Canada’s innovation stories through outreach and public education.

“One of the most important goals at the Museums is to spark new ideas and foster dreams in our young visitors,” said Alex Benay, President and CEO of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation. “By creating a partnership with the Governor General’s Innovation Awards, we hope to further inspire the next generation to help transform the world — like the remarkable Canadian innovators who have done so before them.”

The Corporation includes the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the Canada Science and Technology Museum. It is responsible for preserving and protecting Canada’s scientific and technological heritage and for promoting and sharing knowledge about that heritage.

The work of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation is made possible in part through financial support of the Government of Canada.
